Education
The Education Worktable is committed to supporting collaboration among states to resolve problems related to the education of youth along the U.S.-Mexico border region through education programs that promote bilingual education, cultural exchange and bilateral educational experiences. The Education Worktable currently is taking action to:
• Identify, share and promote best practices in mathematics, science and technology instruction and in engaging business support of education in the United States-Mexico border region.
• Support the acquisition of funds from the Mexican federal government for the growth of English as a Second Language (ESL) programs in elementary schools within the Mexican Border States. The United States Border States will continue to support these efforts by sharing educational methods and training for teachers.
• Identify and implement strategies to support and assist the reintegration of bi-national students into their appropriate educational levels.
